High-Level International Training in Laser Prostate Enucleation at the HM Sanchinarro University Hospital, Madrid

Last Friday, July 4, the HM Sanchinarro Hospital in Madrid was the scene of an intensive course in laser prostate enucleation, which brought together five urologists from different corners of Europe: the Czech Republic, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Romania.
Zaragoza hosts an advanced surgical training session with realistic Urology 3D models.

On May 7, 2025, the Miguel Servet University Hospital in Zaragoza was the scene of an intense surgical training day focused on two key procedures in laparoscopic urology.
High-Level Training in Laser Prostate Enucleation: Innovation, Realism and Sustainability at HM Madrid Río

On 27 February, 27 March, 25 April and 8 May 2025, four editions of the laser prostatic enucleation course were held at the HM Madrid Río Hospital, a minimally invasive surgical technique that is becoming increasingly widespread for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). These training sessions brought together a total of 40 urologists from different parts of Spain, in an intensive, practical and highly specialised learning environment. The courses were led by doctors Javier Romero-Otero, Fernando Lista Mateos and Diego Torres Pérez, leaders in urology and members of ROC Clinic and HM Hospitals, who shared their extensive clinical and surgical experience with the attendees. In addition, the organization was carried out by Urology 3D, ROC Clinic and the HM Hospitals Research Foundation, with the support of Casen Recordati as a sponsor. A comprehensive training format: theory and practice with cutting-edge technology Each course was structured in two complementary parts. First, a theoretical session was offered in which the doctors addressed the anatomical foundations, clinical indications, advantages and challenges of the laser prostatic enucleation technique. This part allowed attendees to update their knowledge and resolve doubts directly with experts in the field. Subsequently, a practical “Hands-on” session was held, in which participants were able to apply what they learned using the hyperrealistic prostate models developed and marketed by Urology 3D. These models, specifically designed to simulate the texture, strength and behavior of prostate tissue during enucleation, represent a revolutionary tool for surgical training. Hyper-realistic, vegan and sustainable models: a new era in medical simulation One of the highlights of these courses was the possibility of practicing the surgical technique in a completely safe environment, without risk to patients and with an extremely realistic tactile and visual experience. Urology 3D models are made from 100% vegan materials, which not only ensures an ethical alternative to animal or cadaveric models, but also significantly reduces the environmental impact of medical training. Thanks to this technology, attendees were able to directly experience the sensations of laser enucleation of the prostate, improving their dexterity, precision and confidence before facing real cases. This practical approach is key to shortening the learning curve and improving long-term clinical outcomes. Committed to excellence and innovation in urology At Urology 3D, we reaffirm our commitment to quality medical training, technological innovation and sustainability. We are proud to collaborate with leading institutions such as ROC Clinic and HM Hospitales to offer educational experiences that make a difference in daily clinical practice. Excellent surgical training with hyperrealistic models: this was the partial nephrectomy and pyeloplasty courses at HM Sanchinarro

At Urology 3D we continue to be committed to quality, innovative and sustainable surgical training. Along these lines, on March 10 and 17, 2025, two successful editions of partial nephrectomy and laparoscopic pyeloplasty course were held at the HM Sanchinarro Hospital (Madrid), with the participation of 30 urologists from different cities in Spain. A course designed to learn by doing Each training day was carefully structured in two parts. The first consisted of a theoretical session given by three leading figures in urology in Spain: Dr. Vital Hevia Palacios, Dr. Gema Duque Ruiz and Dr. Ricardo Brime Menéndez, urologists from ROC Clinic and HM Hospitales. During this phase, the anatomical fundamentals, surgical indications, operative techniques and possible complications of partial nephrectomy and pyeloplasty were addressed. The second part of the course was eminently practical, with a Hands-on session in which attendees were able to apply the knowledge acquired in a safe and controlled environment. For this purpose, the kidney models developed by Urology 3D, specifically designed to accurately simulate complex laparoscopic procedures, were used to do this. Technology at the service of surgical training The models used during the course represent a significant advance in the teaching of urological surgery. Thanks to their anatomical realism, response to surgical instruments and texture similar to human tissue, they allow professionals to practice techniques such as tumor resection, intracorporeal suturing and pyelocaliceal reconstruction with unprecedented fidelity. In addition, these models are vegan and sustainable, made without components of animal origin and with environmentally friendly materials. Not only does this eliminate the ethical and logistical risks associated with the use of biological tissues, but it also promotes more accessible, repeatable, and aligned training with the sustainability values we share at Urology 3D. A high-level collaboration This course has been possible thanks to the collaboration between Urology 3D, ROC Clinic and HM Hospitales Research Foundation, and has been sponsored by Casen Recordati, whose support has been key to bringing this training experience to a greater number of professionals. From Urology 3D we want to thank all the attendees for their enthusiasm and commitment, as well as doctors Hevia, Duque and Brime for their dedication and teaching excellence. We also extend our thanks to ROC Clinic and HM Hospitales for providing the space and the necessary means for the development of the course. Committed to the future of urological surgery In a context where accuracy, safety and sustainability are more important than ever, at Urology 3D we continue to work to offer training solutions that are up to today’s challenges. These courses are an example of how technology can transform the way surgery is taught and learned, and we are proud to be a part of this change.
