Last Friday, July 4, the HM Sanchinarro Hospital in Madrid was the scene of an intensive course in laser prostate enucleation, which brought together five urologists from different corners of Europe: the Czech Republic, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Romania. This training day, sponsored by Olympus, was organized and directed by ROC Clinic, together with its great medical team, led on this occasion by doctors Javier Romero-Otero and Fernando Lista Mateos, two international leaders in minimally invasive urological surgery.
A course with a comprehensive approach: theory, live surgery and advanced simulation
The day began with a solid theoretical base, in which doctors Romero-Otero and Lista shared their clinical experience, addressing the anatomical, technical and surgical foundations of prostatic laser enucleation. This introduction allowed attendees to contextualize the technique and prepare for the practical part of the course.
The participants were then divided into two groups to maximize the training experience:
• Group 1: Moved to the operating room to observe Dr. Romero-Otero performing live surgeries. This experience allowed the students to see first-hand how the technique is applied to real patients, with real-time explanations by the surgeon, and having the possibility of clarifying doubts.
• Group 2: Headed to another operating room where Dr. Lista delivered hands-on sessions using Urology 3D prostate models, specifically designed to accurately simulate the anatomy and behavior of prostate tissue during enucleation.
After a period of time, the groups swapped roles, ensuring that all attendees could benefit from both clinical observation and simulated practice.

Urology 3D: ethical and realistic simulation at the service of medical training
One of the most valued aspects of the course was the quality of the prostate models used during the simulation. Manufactured entirely in Spain, Urology 3D models stand out not only for their anatomical and functional realism, but also for their commitment to ethics and sustainability.

These models are made with vegan and cruelty-free materials, which means that no animal products are used and no animal tests are carried out during their development. This philosophy allows us to offer an ethical and responsible alternative without compromising quality or the training experience. . In addition, they grant attendees the possibility of practicing this complex surgical technique without the fear or risk of harming the patient.

This ability to simulate real surgical situations allows professionals to train safely, repetitively and effectively, improving their skills before facing real clinical cases.
Opinions that speak for themselves

At the end of the day, the comments of the participants were unanimously positive. They all highlighted the excellent organization of the course, the quality of the teaching given by doctors Romero-Otero and Lista, and the usefulness of simulation models as a key tool for learning.
These types of initiatives reinforce our commitment to technological innovation, excellent medical training, and the development of sustainable solutions that make a difference in surgical education.
